Bulgaria’s BH Air to Start Direct Flights to Chicago, New York in May
Bulgarian airline BH Air is expected to launch direct flights to New York and Chicago from the beginning of May 2015, Sofia Airport Executive Director Hristo Shterionov has said.
Another carrier, Swiss International, is expected to launch flights on the Sofia-Zurich route also in May, BTA news agency quoted Shterionov as saying.
BH Air was certified for flights to the US last year, 15 years after Bulgaria’s former national carrier Balkan Airlines made its last flight to New York.
The company said earlier it planned to fly to Chicago and New York four times a week. The largest Bulgarian expat community in the US lives in Chicago.
